This un finished at the time painting was found behind the piano that I finally had someone take away..... it is a long story, but i will try to keep it short. When I was a little girl, I loved to play the piano. My Mom said I would play at Carnegie Hall (NOT!) But, I loved to play. My grandmother promised me one of her pianos, and one day a piano showed up at our house and I took lessons and enjoyed playing the piano (age 10 to 12) Everyone else in the family played that piano too...my Daughter, Son, Sisters, Grandaughter... it was great! I claimed the piano, and my daughter asked to keep it for her when she had her own home..................ok.........moved it around, but kept it for her until she had her own home and then said that she had no room for it!!!!!!!

Having lunch with my Mom and Dad and commiserating that I kept this piano for my daughter for years who did not want it and it was my Grandmother's piano......my Dad says "that was NOT your Grandmother's piano, that came from someone at the shop!!!!!!!

So, I gave the piano away to Luis who has grandchildren that are very musical, and when they came for the piano, this unfinished painting was found behind it......a present....I finished the painting, which is very piono concertesk... (is that a word?) and here it is. I think this is a very special ending to a very long and funny story........... Enjoy!

This is a monotype print with ink, which is the process of painting on a carrier (glass for this) and transferring the image via press to printing paper. This one was enhanced with ink. Hello, 5:00 came very early this morning, but I am glad that I got up and painted at Tarrywile Park. It was very tranquil, beautiful and a great way to start the day. I worked in watercolor and started with this piece and finished with a larger piece of the same scene for the show on Sunday. I also painted this evening and that did not go as well at first, but all was not lost.

ATCO is an Artist Trading Card Original. This trend was started in the 90's and has grown in popularity. The original idea was for artists to paint small paintings in a uniform size...a baseball card size. They would trade and collect them from different artists. There are actual trading meets. Since they are collectible, artists also sell them as small original pieces of art. I like to start with an ATCO and work my up to larger works. I hope you enjoy it. Jo Ann

Hello, Here I am on Day 2 of my Challenge. I have to tell you all that I am very fired up about all of this.....I was up at 5:00 AM to go paint! Am I crazy? No, I was accepted into the Tarrywile First Annual Plein Air Event. I always wanted to do a 'Paint Out' and here is one in my own back yard. Tarrywile is a Mansion and Park that covers over 700 acres that is owned by the City of Danbury where I live. This is a juried show that will have a reception and sale of the work to help support the Park on Sunday June 6th from 3 to 5 PM. Refreshments and Hors Deorves will be served. Meanwhile we paint starting today til Saturday for the sale. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. The expanse is vast, so it is almost like painting the Grand Canyon (which I did try once), but I managed to paint pieces that I am happy with....I hope you are too. I am saving certain pieces for the sale on Sunday, but I am bound and determined to post every day to my blog, so here is a piece that I painted this morning....I hope you like it! Enjoy! Jo Ann

Hello Friends, It has been too long, but I am happy to be back and with a new fresh attitude towards my work. The show in Islamorada was fun but alot of work for the results. I have given alot of thought to my art and what it means to me and to everyone else that receives it and have decided to focus on my blog and try to make it into something very special and fun for me and you.

I have given myself a 30 day challenge!!! To post every day for the month of June. I am going to make it fun by changing the rules and sending my paintings to ebay for an auction type bid....but here is the fun part. Today is June 1st, so the bidding starts at $1.
