This was my view this morning in Vermont...........beautiful. This is painted on Yupo paper which is synthetic paper used in the printing industry. Sometimes it has a mind of its own and gives hidden personality such as the X that showed up in the painting. There was no landing pad in the lake, but the dragonflys tried.

I could not help but paint the most prolific scene on the beach.....it did not include all the people in the water/sand, but it was all about the most important people....the LifeGuards, and it makes me thankful for my LifeGuards in my everyday life. Day 183 'We Remember'

I know it is not Memorial Day, or Veterans Day, but 4th of July is Independance Day, and we owe our independence to all that gave up their lives for it. I painted this piece in Bucksport, Maine and it is not the happiest painting, but it is symbolic of the beauty of this wonderful country and the American Flag sentiment of appreciation of our fallen soldiers.

Happy 4th of July to all. I will be traveling to Maine for the next 4 days and willnot be posting, but will be painting. I will be back next week, hopefully with some great paintings to post to you.

Batik Watercolor 11"x14"

Staying with the patriotic theme, we have another Batik Watercolor on Kinwashi paper. Batik is a process of using hot wax as a resist and saving the whites and lights in the painting process. When everything is covered in wax I crunch it into a ball and 'crack the wax' and then straighten it out to add a harmonious wash to pull the entire piece together.....then I iron out the wax between gobs of newspaper to see what the end result is. It is always exciting to see what results. Sometimes it is wonderful, and sometimes it ends up in the garbage.... oh well

I have decided that this month will be a little different due to traveling, etc. I am going to start all of the bidding for this month at $22.22, which is appropriate for the 2nd month of this new endeavor.
